What are some cool facts about phantom of the opera?

Phantom is a complex production, employing 130 cast, crew and orchestra members for each performance. It includes 230 costumes, 22 scene changes, 281 candles and uses 250 kg of dry ice along with 10 fog machines. Makeup for the phantom alone takes two hours to apply. The touring show transports the set using 27 semi-trailer trucks.
Financially, Phantom is the most successful musical to date, with worldwide grosses estimated at $5 billion. Phantom also draws a wide audience, reaching, to date, an estimated 80 million people in 25 countries. In 2006, it passed Cats as the longest running show on Broadway, and has been awarded over 50 major theater awards. The musical is performed in London, Las Vegas, New York, Australia, Osaka, Budapest and Warsaw, and it travels to cities across the United States.
