Piano Kit
Budget drum kit's (ideas and suggestions please)?
So.
I've tried pretty much every other instrument and dedicated quite a long time to each.
to put it simple, musically, i seem to have no talent for singing, guitars, piano's, etc.
but I've never tried drums, other than Rockband/Guitar hero.
I have the build of a drummer, I seem to have pretty good rythm and co-ordination between bass, drum rolls and other drumming... things.
so yeah, i want to try it out.
thing is, i'm working minimum wage and curruntly have several other priorities, so i could potentially only spare £200 or so on this experiment.
The drums need to be electronic as my neighbores aren't too happy with noise, but other than that, i'm open to idea's.
I was considering getting the ION Drum kit for the 360 (as it would also benefit my Guitarhero/Rockband drumming, but I haven't been able to find much in the way of pro's and con's.)
So, please, suggestions?
(by the way, I live in the UK, if that's going to make any difference)

Too bad you're not in Cyprus (where I live) I saw a kit (electric) the other day in a store and it was half price special offer for one week, and it was so nice, like a regular kit (not rubber stuff) and 400 euros!!! too bad I don't have that kind of money.
My suggestion before you go out there and jump to the conclusion that you want to play the drums is to try it out first, if you anyway had a hard time coping with other instruments, then better play it safe. Electric kits, I wouldn't advise buying just a cheap one. With a regular kit, it's fine, cause you can upgrade the heads and the cymbals. But with electric, you need a whole knew kit!
But then again, depends how seriously you plan to take this new hobby.
My suggestion, I don't know if you have a place like that there, but I suggest going and getting music lessons in a school or what I did, my local music shop gave lessons and I went for a few weeks at first for lessons there and practiced at home on my pillow and then bought a practice pad and then finally saved up and got a kit and things went from there... Ask what the teacher thinks and if you really have what it takes. Drums aren't that easy, beats seem easy but when you think about it, your feet and arms are each on totally different speeds at the same time!
What I do to minimize the sounds, I bought rubber pads to cover the drums so that it muffles the sound cause I hate when people can hear me.

Another tip that I had a hard time with, but I wish I had taken it seriously, learn to count. I cannot stress how important that is. I found drums relatively easy at first and was amazed how I could do the exercises, but then I realized that it gets very complicated, and if you don't know how to count in your head while playing, you're screwed!
Not trying to deter you from playing drums, but I really think it's a waste to just buy a kit and feel like you can't do it and give up and watch it collect dust or regret buying something cheap. Either save up for it or try it out first so you're sure it's going to be worth it. It would be a whole different scenario if you had more money and it wasn't such a problem, though working at minimum wage isn't the best time to experiment in my opinion.

You can also buy this self learning book for drums that I used, it's amazing, it also has advice on how to build a kit from pots and pans and in all the sections, it talks about regular kits and what to do if you went the pots and pans method. Also there are other books in the same series for other instruments and the final piece that is taught is common for all books so you basically play one song together.
